New anti-terrorism laws come into effect in the UK on Monday that will target anyone that takes a photograph which includes members of the armed forces (including the police)

' ... which is of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism'.

The impact of this is that people taking photographs that include a police officer at football matches, street carnivals or on the local high street could be detained, arrested and imprisoned for up to 10 years. It also means that journalists cannot take photographs at crime scenes or events where police are visible.

To protest this law, the UK's National Union Of Journalists are converging on New Scotland Yard in London for a "media event".
